About the Eisteddfod

The Eisteddfod offers amateur students and performers as solo artists, ensembles or groups, the opportunity to gain experience by performing their particular art form in front of an audience.

Performers can enter the section that fits their particular style and instrument. These styles cover classical, jazz, popular etc. for piano, strings, brass, woodwinds, song, speech and drama, dance, school and community choirs and bands, etc.

Performers can begin as young as they are able, with sections beginning with 6 years and under, through to 18 years and on to the Open Sections for adults. In recent years sections have been added for children with special needs, for example in popular vocal and speech and drama.
